About Done It Myself

Done It Myself is one builder in Knoxville. When you hire me, I'm the one who comes out, puts together the quote, pulls the permits, frames it and finishes it.

Why I work alone

Most building companies run on passing work around. A salesperson sells the job, a project manager schedules it, and a crew you've never met shows up to build it. Every time the work gets passed to someone else, that is a chance for something you asked for to get lost.

I skipped all that. You can talk to me before the job, during it and after it. If you want a window moved six inches, you tell the person holding the saw, and it gets moved. It also means I take on fewer jobs at once. That is on purpose. I'd rather do a few jobs right than do a lot of them in a hurry.

What I build

New homes, additions, garages and shops, decks and porches, remodels and framing for owner-builders and other contractors. If it's structural, I frame it and see it through to trim. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC go to licensed trades I've worked with for years. I'm on site while they are there, so nothing gets covered up before it has been checked.
